The site of the former Fürst Hardenberg mine (approx. 22 hectares) is part of the Hardenberg Harbor industrial zone. The RAG central workshop was closed in the middle of the 90s. The Montan-Grundstücksgesellschaft reclaimed the site in cooperation with the City of Dortmund and developed it as the Logistics Park Hardenberg.
The first construction project was a distribution warehouse center for the tire company Bridgestone, implemented by ETL Fiege tire-logistics. In the meantime two other companies have located here, namely the bakery specialists Harry Brot and DHL Logistics. There are two more sub-plots available with a total of 3.6 hectares.
Transport connections to the Logistics Park are being substantially improved by extending and changing the traffic routing on Lindenhorster Straße. All residential areas along the old Lindenhorster Straße will be closed to through traffic. The first construction stage of the Fürst-Hardenberg-Allee, between Lütge and Kolberger Straße, which has been extended as a three lane relief road alongside Lindenhorster Straße, was finished in autumn 2002. It takes over the access functions for the adjacent commercial zones in the area of the existing commercial and industrial zone Hardenberg Harbor. The second construction stage for the avenue up to Ellinghauser Straße will be extended as a two lane highway. This construction phase was started in autumn 2004 and is planned to be finished in 2007.
